Fight Aging as You Sleep with a Silk Pillowcase

Your face is smooshed into your pillow for eight hours (give or take) every night. In our quest to age as slowly as possible, we can not forget to look at sleep.

In my anti-aging investigation, I've discovered the benefits of silk pillowcases. Silk is not only amazingly luxurious, and stimulating to our senses, but it is also the most ideal way to spend those eight hours every night.
The Chinese have known for centuries the health benefits
of sleeping on silk pillowcases as silk is the nearest thing to human skin known to us. It contains a natural protein and 18 essential amino acids. Studies show amino acids can counter the effects of aging especially in the facial skin and can help calm the nervous system. Silk also contains natural cellular albumen, which helps speed up metabolism of skin cells thus helping to reduce signs of aging.

Silk charmeuse (pronounced sharmooze) is a natural heat regulator, maintaining body temperature. It does not conduct heat or static electricity like other fibers. Heat is retained during cold temperatures and redundant heat is shed during summer temperatures. Keeping your skin
cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

Silk is naturally hypoallergenic making it a must for allergy sufferers especially eczema. It helps sensitive dry or itchy skin. Silk is also inhospitable to dust mites
and naturally fire retardant.

Silk charmeuse will not absorb natural moisture from your face and hair, or facial beauty creams while you sleep, unlike cotton, which is an absorbent fiber and draws moisture.

Not only this but sleeping on silk can help prevent thinning of the hair. Cotton causes more friction disrupting hair follicles as we move in our sleep leading to hair breakage and split ends. Because of its special weave silk charmeuse pillowcases will prevent hair from tangling as we move in our sleep, and also prevent breakage.

-Anyone opposed to the use of silk can buy a synthetic satin pillowcase instead. It feels very similar, and has some of the same benefits.

My Picks!
Knowledge is power! Cozy chair, hot tea and a good book. Nothing better.
