Nine Alternative Cancer Therapies to Help Fight Cancer Naturally





Chemotherapy has been one of the mainstays of conventional cancer treatments since the 1960s. Few dare to question or criticize its growing use. Those who do are often met with vigorous personal attacks.

While helping to reduce the mortality from childhood leukemia, Hodgkin’s disease and other rare cancers, chemotherapy has done virtually nothing to cure or prolong survival from cancers of the lung, breast, colon, rectum and prostate. Well over 50 percent of all cancer patients receive chemotherapy, yet these relatively toxic drugs help only five percent of these cases.

Chemotherapy drugs work by killing cancer cells. Unfortunately, they also kill healthy normal cells and depress the immune system-making the recipient more susceptible to various infectious diseases like pneumonia. Side effects include hair loss, fatigue, weight loss, mouth sores, nausea, vomiting, easy bruising, bone marrow suppression and heart muscle damage. Not all chemotherapy is the same; some types offer fewer side effects than others. Due to the harmful effects of chemotherapy on the immune system, secondary tumors can occur up to 25 times more often than the expected rate.

Another disturbing fact about chemotherapy is that the majority of specialists who prescribe such drugs would refuse to take them if they or their families had cancer themselves. According to one survey published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology in 1987, 81 percent of cancer specialists would not consent to a drug trial due to the ineffectiveness of chemotherapy and its unacceptable degree of toxicity.

A new study by the
National Confidential Enquiry into Patient Outcome and Death has found that 27% of deaths of seriously ill cancer patients were either hastened or directly caused by the use of such chemotherapy treatment. The NCEPOD reviewed 600 cases in this study of patients who died within thirty days after receiving chemotherapy treatment.

What are the alternatives then? Firstly, keep in mind that healthy bodies do not get cancer. Sick bodies get cancer. To conquer cancer you must first get that concept firmly in mind. If you have breast cancer, it is not just your breast that is sick. A mastectomy, or any other similar procedure, does not solve your cancer problem. The same applies to prostate or any other kind of cancer.  

Cancer must be viewed for what it is; failure of the body to maintain health. Chemotherapy and radiation do not restore health. To eliminate cancer one needs to drastically change their current lifestyle to one that restores health and heals the body. There are many alternative cancer therapies out there. It is highly recommended that one incorporates many of them, rather than just one. Set down an extremely aggressive natural approach that you vigilantly follow and you can rid your body of cancer.

Alternative Cancer Treatments


ESSIAC - 4-HERB

Essiac is an herbal cancer treatment developed by a Canadian nurse, RenĂ©e Caisse (1888-1978). (Essiac is Caisse spelled backwards.) The tea consists of burdock, sheep sorrel, slippery elm and turkish rhubarb. Ms. Caisse claimed that the formula had been given to her in 1922 by a patient whose breast cancer had been cured by a traditional Native American healer in Ontario. 

Thousands of patients have since been treated with this herbal mixture, most of them at Caisse's own Bracebridge Clinic in Ontario. While this clinic was shut down in 1942, the controversy over Essiac simmered for years. Charles Brusch, MD--President John Kennedy's physician--is said to have declared that Essiac ‘cures cancer’. As with many that experience the frontiers of knowledge, Caisse speculated about what many to this day do not understand. She felt there was an undiscovered gland that was affected by Essiac, one that acts to inhibit the supply of the substances that nourish cancer cells. Everyone, even her strongest defenders, are quick to point out that while no one has disproved her theory, no one has corroborated it either. 

This said, the four herbs that everyone agrees are the cornerstones of the Essiac formula are fairly well understood. Many users of Essiac believe that Essiac can and does improve the body’s ability to fight cancer. All four herbs normalize body systems by purifying the blood, promoting cell repair, and aiding effective assimilation and elimination. When combined, their separate beneficial effects are synergistically enhanced.

APRICOT SEED KERNEL

Apricot seed kernel was claimed as the answer for all cancers over 30 years ago. In 1952, a biochemist named Dr. Ernst Krebb, Jr. in San Francisco claimed that cancer was a metabolic reaction to a poor diet, and a missing nutrient from modern human's diet could be the key to overcoming cancer. His research led to a compound found in over 1200 edible plants throughout nature. That compound is amagdylin. 

Amagdylin is found with the highest concentration and necessary enzymes in apricot seed kernels. A primitive tribe, the Hunzas, were known to consume large amounts of apricot seed kernels. The hard pit had to be broken to get into the soft kernels. There was no incidence of cancer with them at all, ever. And they had long, healthy life spans. Laetrile was created by simply extracting amagdylin from the soft apricot kernels, purifying it and putting it into a concentrated form. 

Amagdylin is a nitrioloside. Nitriolisides are difficult to categorize since they are in foods but not foods themselves. As a nitrioloside, amagdylin resembled the B complex structures, so Dr. Krebb called it B17 since by that time 16 types of B vitamins had been isolated. Dr. Krebb injected himself with laetrile to ensure there would be no toxic side effects. He conducted further lab animal and culture experiments to conclude that laetrile would be effective in the treatment of cancer. There are many success stories from people using just laetrile or apricot pit kernels, although a collaboration of methods are preferred on this website. The usual recommendation for prevention is around 5 to 7 over the course of a day. For actual cancer cases use 2 to 3 times that. Some say one kernel for every 10 lbs of body weight. For maintenance after a cure, go back to 5 to 7 per day. Some laetrile therapists have patients use vitamin B15 tablets and digestive enzymes such as papaya's papain and pineapple's bromalene. 

Too many apricot pit kernels can create nausea or dizziness. Start slow, be smart, do not eat too many too quickly, listen to your body AND keep in mind that children are more prone to having adverse effects than adults, and any dosage for children should be very small. Lastly, enjoy this amazing healing substance that has been created to heal us.

ARTEMISININ

Artemisinin is a substance derived from the leaves of a sweet wormwood plant known as Artemisia annua. It is mostly used as a standard drug to combat malaria. In laboratory tests with cancer cells, artemisinin has killed 75% of the cancer cells in a sample within eight hours, and within 24 hours has shown a 100% destruction of these cells. All of this without any damage to healthy cells also present in the tests. 

It is said that artemisinin has long been used in China and Vietnam as an anti-cancer treatment. Because of this, researches are exploring its potential in the treatment of many forms of cancer. In one such research, scientists from the University of California, found that artemisinin can stop the proliferation or multiplication of prostate cancer cells by arresting the cell cycle at a certain point. 

Researchers, also from the University of California, also looked into the effect of artemisinin on breast cancer cells. They found that artemisinin also caused an arrest at a certain point in the cell cycle of the cancer cells, thus disrupting the responsiveness of cancer cells to the hormone estrogen. In another study, scientists from the University of Washington also revealed that artemisinin is capable of selectively killing cancer cells without harming the normal cells. They performed their study by exposing leukemia cells and white blood cells to the artemisinin compound, and they observed that the leukemia cells quickly died, leaving the white blood cells without any harm. 

Its ability to kill cancer cells from within lets artemisinin selectively kill cancer cells while keeping normal cells untouched and unharmed. This gives scientists hope that it could someday be used as a safe drug to battle all kinds of cancer. Human cells have already been used with positive effects, which makes scientists and researchers optimistic about a wider scope of human usage.

BUDWIG DIET
The Flaxseed (Linseed) oil diet was originally proposed by Dr. Johanna Budwig, a German biochemist and expert on fats and oils, in 1951 and recently re-examined by Dr. Dan C. Roehm M.D. FACP (Oncologist and former cardiologist) in 1990. Dr. Roehm claims: "this diet is far and away the most successful anti-cancer diet in the world". 

Budwig claims that the diet is both a preventative and a curative. She says the absence of linol-acids [in the average western diet] is responsible for the production of oxydase, which induces cancer growth and is the cause of many other chronic disorders. The beneficial oxydase ferments are destroyed by heating or boiling oils in foods, and by nitrates used for preserving meat, etc. 

The theory is: the use of oxygen in the organism can be stimulated by protein compounds of sulphuric content, which make oils water-soluble and which is present in cheese, nuts, onion and leek vegetables such as leek, chive, onion and garlic, but especially cottage cheese. Ferments of cell respiration closely connected with the highly unsaturated fatty acids, are also needed for proper oxidation. It is essential to use only unrefined, cold-pressed oils with high linolic acid content, such as flaxseed, poppyseed, and walnut oils. Such oil should be consumed together with foods containing the right proteins otherwise the oils will have the opposite effect, causing more harm than good. The best combination is cottage cheese and flaxseed oil. The flaxseed should be freshly ground. Carbohydrates containing natural sugar, such as dates, figs, pears, apples and grapes, are also included in the diet. Honey is also beneficial. Most of the synthetic vitamin A preparations are bad because they contain oxidation products, but much carotine as provitamin A (from carrot) is consumed. Vitamin B from buttermilk, yoghurt, and natural yeast is beneficial. A person requires daily about 4 oz. of cottage cheese mixed well with 1.5 oz. of linseed oil and 1 oz. of milk. A blender or egg beater works fine. The mixture an be sweeten with honey or otherwise flavored naturally. Fresh fruits can be added. Every morning 2 spoonfuls of freshly ground linseed oil should be taken in luke warm buttermilk or yoghurt.

PROTOCEL(Cancell) 
In 1936, American chemist Jim Sheridan developed a non-toxic liquid formula that he purported treats all cancers and certain viral infections as well as speeds up the healing process for those suffering with devastating illnesses. 

For several decades, Sheridan continued to test his formula on lab mice with tumors to study its effects and success rate before attempting to get it approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use in human cancer patients. It was first called Entelev and then later was renamed Cancell when modifications were made to the formula to improve its effects. BETA GLUCANS
Oriental herbalists have known for centuries that something inside yeast and mushrooms has the ability to dramatically enhance your immune system. Scientists have discovered it is a long chain of polysaccharides called Beta Glucans. Starting with the first scientific studies 40 years ago, Beta Glucans have been demonstrated to have anti-tumor activity in both human and animal trials against a wide variety of tumor types such as lung, gastrointestinal and breast cancer. 

In Japan and China, Beta Glucan has been used since the 1980’s for cancer therapy and Beta Glucan is a fully licensed cancer drug in Japan. The immune system will recognize most tumors, but the antibody response is rarely strong enough to kill cancer growth and even a completely healthy immune system can quickly become overwhelmed by fast-growing cancer cells. 

Where Beta Glucan plays a role is in coordinating with the antibodies that help the immune system recognize the cancer cells as foreign. Once cancer cells are identified as “not self”, specific antibodies are released and will bind to the cancer cells. Once this binding takes place, the C3 fragment of compliment coats the surface of the cancer cells so that the glucan-primed cells, such as macrophages and natural killer cells, can recognize the cancer cells and kill them. The traditional treatments of cancer have brutal effects on the body, this is where Beta Glucan shines with a big advantage: it has no known negative side effects. There appears to be a synergistic relationship between Beta-Glucan and Vitamin C, so many clinics combine both in their treatments.

VITAMIN D THERAPY

A new study of 3,299 persons has shown that those with higher levels of vitamin D cut their risk of dying from cancer in half. Another recent study shows that ample intake of vitamin D, about 2,000 IU per day, can cut breast cancer incidence by half. 

Still more research found that inadequate Vitamin D is “associated with high incidence rates of colorectal cancer” and specifically urges that “prompt public health action is needed to increase intake of Vitamin D-3 to 1000 IU/day.” Vitamin D’s anticancer properties are so evident, and so important, that the Canadian Cancer Society now recommends supplementation with 1,000 IU of Vitamin D per day for all adults in winter, and year-round for persons at risk. Michael Holick, MD, Boston University Professor of Medicine, has come right out and said it: 

“We can reduce cancer risk by 30 to 50% by increasing vitamin D. Tumor growth was markedly reduced in mice with colon cancer simply by having vitamin D in the diet. There was a 40% reduction in tumor size. And, casual sun exposure actually decreases your risk of melanoma. Everyone needs 1,000 IU of vitamin D3 each day."

A raw food diet is full of vitamins, mineral, enzymes, phytochemicals, etc. From thirty to eighty-five percent of the nutrition in foods is destroyed in cooking. Cooked food is dead food, plant any seed and it will grow. Cook the seed and then plant it and it will not grow, because it’s life principle has been destroyed. Place cancer cells in a cooked media and they will proliferate. 

Now place the cancer cells in a raw matter and they will disappear. This astounding fact is known to the Cancer society, but the public was never informed. Glycoproteins are natural sugars. Other foods with glycoproteins include: Aloe vera, slow cooked oatmeal, whole barley, brown rice, pectins - apples and citrus fruit eaten whole, breast milk, arabinogalactins - found in wheat, leeks, carrots, radishes, pears, red wine, coconut, tomatoes, curcumin and echinacea, corn, psyllium, garlic.
