Ancient cultures used a tea made with honey and cinnamon powder for longevity. When taken regularly it arrests the ravages of old age. Take one small spoonful of cinnamon powder and three cups of water and boil to make a tea. Then, add four spoons (or less) raw honey. Drink 1/4 cup, three to four times a day. It keeps the skin fresh and soft and increases life span. Also used for: heart disease, arthritis, bladder infections, toothache, cholesterol, colds, upset stomach, gas, immune system, indigestion, infertility, influenza, weight loss, cancer, hair loss, and fatigue. Supposedly it is a cure- all. More info here

FYI: Avoid consuming high dosages of cinnamon for extended periods of time. Take breaks once and awhile.

Lemon Water
Lemon water is rich in many essential nutrients. It is known to have antiseptic, antibacterial, anti-aging, anti-fatigue and anti-inflammatory properties. It boosts immune system, improves digestion and maintains overall health. It can be used to treat various health conditions and prevent infections. Traditional Chinese Medicine suggests that you begin your day with refreshing lemon water. Lemon water acts as a blood purifier, it is an antioxidant, improves the immune system, prevents and treats certain infections, maintains digestive health, boosts metabolism, strengthens the liver, and rejuvenates the skin.

Green Smoothies
Green smoothies are blended drinks made with fresh raw leafy greens in them. Simple as that. Quite often the greens are blended with fruits and superfoods giving you a delicious meal bursting with nutrition. Greens are among the most important foods for us to eat. There are many studies that show their cancer fighting qualities. Green smoothies give us a concentrated amount of fresh greens in a way that would be difficult to achieve through other means.
Green smoothies are high in antioxidants and phytochemicals, high in fiber and chlorophyll. When blended the nutrients in greens are more assimilated by the body. Lastly, green smoothies will restore proper PH to the body thus reducing diseases and making you feel amazing.

Side note: do make sure to alternate greens as heavy consumption of one over a long period of time can cause undesirable effects.

Yerba Mate Tea

Known to South Americans as the "Drink of the Gods," Yerba Mate has been used since ancient times as a tea, is recommended throughout South America for its rejuvenating, nutritional, and energizing effects, particularly for mental and physical fatigue. Yerba Mate can be taken as an effective weight-loss aid and scientific research shows mate to be a powerful antioxidant and that it can protect DNA from double-strand breaks. It also has the ability to inhibit LDL oxidation. Mate naturally contains a wide range of polyphenols, methylxanthines, and chlorogenic acid, which together are responsible for its many health benefits.

Many claim the beverage, which contains a mix of vitamins and amino acids, can "boost immunity, restore youthful hair color, retard aging, combat fatigue, control the appetite and eliminate insomnia", and more - and research is tending to support many of those claims, such as finding Yerba Mate to have hypocholesteremic (cholesterol lowering), antioxidant, hepato protective (protecting the liver) properties and a bitter taste all of which are attributed to the phenolic constituents of the leaves.

Green & White Tea
Of course we couldn't have a longevity drink list without green tea. Popular in Asia for more than 5,000 years, green tea is quickly becoming a health drink around the world. The most common use of green tea is to help the body age well. The antioxidants in green tea are thought to erase some of the negative effects of aging on the body. Those who drink 5 or more cups of green tea a day are 16% less likely to die from any cause than those who drink less than one cup a day. They are also 26% less likely to die from heart disease.

Another large study, the scientists from Okayama University of Japan analyzed 12,251 participants, tracking them for an average of 5 years. After comparing green tea intake with health in the individuals, the researchers found a clear pattern – the more green tea consumed, the lower risk of death from heart disease. They found that those drinking seven cups of green tea daily were 75% less likely to die from heart disease. Green tea drinkers were also 31% less likely to die from colorectal cancer. Overall, green tea drinkers were 55% less likely to die from any causes in any given year.
White tea (taken from the same plant) is also very beneficial. Some even claim that it is better due to it's lower caffeine content.

FYI: green tea drinkers need to be sure to get adequate iron in their diet.

Spring Water

The health benefits of spring water have been widely known for centuries. People travel miles to obtain pure, fresh spring water. Natural spring water rises to the land surface naturally. Spring water contains health-restoring minerals like lithium, calcium and magnesium. Additionally, spring water contains a great deal of sulphur that has a therapeutic effect on skin diseases and infections like psoriasis and dermatitis. Spring water serves as a detox agent to flush out toxins while helping to protect and restore your immune system to help fight off the cold and flu.

Spring water also can provide an added energy boost and increase mental alertness for those who drink it regularly. It also tests better than tap water. Spring water lacks the chemicals, such as chlorine, that tap water does. When it comes straight from the ground it has nourishing qualities that are not present in purified water. One thing to be cautious of when drinking spring water is that it could contain contaminants and therefore should be tested before consumption. Try to find a spring in your area that is tested for contaminants.
